Bidding rules

See how simple the process of buying a car from Switzerland can be.

1. Create an account and read the terms

Read the Portal Terms and Conditions and create a user account. An account may be created by an individual or a business. During registration, you provide only the basic details needed to create the account. You complete the vehicle buyer's details and provide the required documents only after the seller has accepted your offer. Creating an account and using the Portal means you accept the Terms and Conditions and the rules for participating in auctions.

2. Submit an offer for the selected vehicle

Choose the vehicle you are interested in and submit your price offer. Auctions use sealed bids: other participants' offers are not visible, so you decide the maximum amount you wish to offer for the vehicle. Once you submit your offer, Auktion Swiss GmbH participates in the auction on your instructions, in line with the amount you specified. Your offer is binding and cannot be withdrawn after the deadline for submitting offers.

3. Check the auction result in your user panel

After the auction ends, information about a possible win will appear under the “Bids” tab.

4. Seller's decision on accepting your offer

After the auction ends, the offer is forwarded to the seller, who has up to 30 days to decide whether to sell the vehicle. In practice, most decisions are made much sooner, usually within the first week. Once your offer is accepted, the auction status will turn green and you will receive information about the next steps. If the offer is not accepted within 30 days, the seller is considered not to have accepted it and the transaction does not proceed.

5. Purchase settlement and completion of the buyer's details

Once your offer is accepted, you will receive information about the purchase and detailed instructions on the next steps. You pay by bank transfer in CHF, using the payment details and deadline specified in the documentation sent to you. You then complete the buyer's details and submit the documents required to carry out the transaction, verify the details and prepare the vehicle documentation. All information about payment, the required documents and the subsequent stages of the transaction will be sent to you by email.

6. Vehicle delivery to the specified address

Once full payment has been credited, the vehicle may be collected from the location specified by Auktion Swiss. The buyer is responsible for arranging and paying for vehicle collection and transport. On request, we will be happy to help arrange transport by providing the contact details of a transport company in Poland that we work with. The transport service is provided directly by an external carrier. The buyer receives the documents available for the vehicle and the sales documentation together with the vehicle. The documents provided may vary depending on the vehicle and the seller. The buyer is responsible for the costs and formalities relating to transport, import, excise duty, translations, technical inspection and vehicle registration in the destination country.
